What does epicenter do ?

The centerpiece of many champion sound installation systems. A patented process digitally maximizes the ultra-low bass on all types of source material. The Epicenter® detects bass harmonics, then digitally recreates the underlying fundamental for the incredible punch and impact of live music. Simply, you get More Bass, LOUDER.

an epicenter is a device that reproduces real bass. when music is being edited the first thing the producers take away is the bass to save room. but the epic reproduces the bass. you won't notice the difference in rap much. but in rock and other similar genres you can tell the differnce. it will make the bass come alive on those songs. but becareful people have damaged their equipment when using them carelessly...

everything i've ever read about it explains that it's a parametric bass equalizer because MOST decks only have equalizers that extend down to 80 or 60hz, and don't offer any equalization on the subwoofer frequencies

i've never heard ANYTHING about pitch shifting capabilities, love to see some info about that....

how can it damage equipment?
By creating low notes far below where normal music plays down to at a very high level. For example, if it creates an 18hz note at -3dB and you have your gain set with -10dB tones and subs with an enclosure tuned to 32 hz... you have now your system trying to play way below tuning and a level far beyond what your amps were ever set to see.

Without a subsonic filter, and your volume cranked, you could expect your subs to give up the ghost pretty quickly.

epicenters are for experienced car audio enthusiast(sp)

but heres a tip

play songs like drop it like its hot, jayz lost ones, most r&b songs ..just about all reagge, some rock, all jazz music, some rap...but mostly the oldschool rap

80

it can damge your equipment cause the sub can bottom out on a lower note...but usually you'll know when to shut the epic off...as soon as u smell copper...unless you're one of those kids who say "man my sub hits really hard that its on fire"

You're not going to know until you test with a meter. Typically even carpeting a box as opposed to painting is going to lose a few tenths.

These are decent budget subs. The box design isn’t bad at 5 cubes for these, but I’d drop it down just a little and raise port tuning up to 32...

The correct answer is yes, you want both left and right so you get low end information from both channels. It is very common for recording...
