Recently I upgrade my audio system, but I have difficulty on setting the Time Correction, Crossover Control and Parametric-EQ on I-Personalize. Also, the music comes from speakers makes me feel noisy and uncomfortable. My vehicle is Nissan Altima 2.5S 2002. From your profession, can anyone give me some suggestion?

Head unit is Alpine CDA-9853

Front speakers is Alpine SPS-170A 6-1/2" 2-Way 200W Car Speakers

Rear speakers is Alpine SPS-690A 6"x9" 3-Way 250W Car Speakers

Ps. I keep the factory speakers, high range, under front windshield.

From the distance of Front L speaker to me is 38 cm

From the distance of Front R speaker to me is 51 cm

From the distance of Rear L speaker to me is 56 cm

From the distance of Rear R speaker to me is 61 cm

in my eclipse manual they give this equation: equation: A = (B-C)/34. Where A is the time in ms. B is the distance from the farthest speaker that is from you. C is the distance from the listening position to the speaker being adjusted.

do that for your left front speaker and your left rear speaker.

as for eq, its all up to you. just mess with it and see what sounds best.

Thank you sir: I will give it a try...^^

What sort of speakers are you using? The stock speakers? Off of headunit power?

Are they clipping / distorted? That's the main cause of fatigue in listeners.

Dear Sir: Actually, I can’t explain it indeed. Here is some data I had set up from i-personalize supported by the Alpine.

CDA-9853 2 WAY

# Time Correction #

[L(ms)/R(ms) ]

Front:1.7/0.7

Rear:0.3/0

SW:0/0

# Crossover # (I never get through with this.... such a hard...)

[Frequency(Hz)/Slope(dB/oct)/Level(dB)]

Front:31.5/OFF/0

Rear:31.5/OFF/0

SW:20.0/OFF/0

# Parametric-EQ # (Hopefully I set those frequencies right, and that’s the most frequently used on the HU settings, aren’t they.)

[Frequency(Hz)/Level(dB)/Width(Q)]

Band1:63.0/+3/1.5

Band2:400.0/+2/1.5

Band3:1.0k/+1/1.5

Band4:2.5k/-3/1.5

Band5:6.3k/-4/1.5

This is my system in the following:

Head unit is Alpine CDA-9853

Front speakers is Alpine SPS-170A 6-1/2" 2-Way 200W Car Speakers

Rear speakers is Alpine SPS-690A 6"x9" 3-Way 250W Car Speakers

Ps. I keep the pair speakers from Nissan factory, high range, under my front windshield. Also, I didn’t install any subwoofers and amplifiers on my car.

best regards,

Derek Ho
