Ok, I am tired of looking around, I need to know if my amp will run stable at 2 ohms? As I have said before it is a Fosgate 125.2. I have decided to keep my Fosgate XLCs if the amp will remain stable at 2 ohms. Fosgates rates it at 4ohms, but it will be in an open area with lots of air flow, and the gain will be turned down (shouldn't at 2 ohms it put more power out than at 4 ohms?). I would rather keep these subs for a while till I can get the money for a new amp and new HX2s. So if you could give me your opinion, since you seem to be the man around here about this sorta stuff. I have never had any issues with RF amps not being able to handle 2 ohms. With adequette ventilation- you should be fine with your setup.

Typically, an amplifier works harder and is "fooled" into producing more power at lower impedences. More resistance, more power to get by it!

Thanks Zane. I will either keep the XLCs or get some 4 ohm HEs, until I can get the 8 ohm, or the new Amp. There isn't gonna be a chance of blowing these subs at 2 ohms is there? They are 400 max, 200 RMS, if they are bridged to 2 ohms, it wont toast em will it? If I dont keep it at full volume all the time. Thanks for the help.

No, there should not really be any issues with frying your subs. So long as you mind your gain settings and dont completely crank your system and drive it into clipping.

-That in itself would damage any speaker-regaurdless of power or ohms.

Well, a local stereo shop is building my box and installing the subs. They wont let the system leave till they have tweaked it, so hopefully they wont set it up wrong. Now about clipping? You mean to the point of distorion right? If my amp puts out more more RMS than the speakers RMS can I still drive them to clipping? I thought the closer you were to the RMS the better. Thanks for your help and knowledge lol.
