xmax is the amount of distance a sub can move in one direction genarlly.

they measure it with expinsive machines.

if you want you can hold a rule be the sub and try to eyeball it but it won't be very acurate.

NO, Xmax is a one way measurement of the LINEAR travel(where distorion is under 10%)

What you are describing is Xmech.
