xm radio

Im not sure, but i think xm rdy means all u need is an anntena and subscription.. as far as if its worth it is concerned, in my opinion yes. I have heard xm, and used it and its **** cool.... its like cable for radio... BUT, theres always a but, i travel alot.. and i am frequently in the mountains where there is a choice of either church music or country, and if im lucky an ocational 80's hit. and most of the time nothing at all... so for me it would be great b/c there isnt a square inch in the US where u cant get xm... But if u live in a big city or a small city where there are plenty of good stations id say its not worth it... bassically youd be paying $120 for commercial free radio... just my .02 cents

k thx for the reaply.

i was told that when your driving in the city between tall buildings or when the weather really ****** it wouldn't work very well? This true?

I have xm its awesome it will work anywhere. You need to get the adapter for it as well as the antenna then the subscription. Definately worth the investment.

Pioneer makes several XM compatible HU's and I think 2 that actually have the tuner built in. Your unit I believe need the tuner as well as the antenna. You save $50-75 by having a compatible unit since you don't need an FM Modulator and your sound will be better with a direct connect. ENJOY

thats another 200

actually theres 2 pieces u need one an antenna to the brain which is a seperate piece everything should run about $250 ant and adapter.

i dont think all the money is worth it i would rather just listen to cds. Also it depends on how much time to normallly listen to the radio and how much time you spend in the car.

Personally i didnt think it was worth it. I have a burner and thats all i need. I like to choose what i listen to and exactly when. I dont like radio that much but have friends that really do like it so i guess it comes around to, its up to you and what you like.

later

i would just liike to know what i would need and if u guys could make me a list that would be sweet thanks alot ... if u could please include prices estimating is fine

maybe if possible send a copy to fretin24_7@hotmail.com

thnx alot

Xm radio is defanatly the wave of the future.

Your always playing the hottest tracks when they come out and your

paying less than a cd a month!

I have had XM radio since it launched in the south Oct 15th. The sound quality

is very close to digitial but the signal isn't as strong as a cd. If i'm listening to a cd

fairly loud and then i switch directly over to xm, the sound from xm is about 70% of

what the cd was.. So i have to turn it up to match the cd.. However, its convenient

to see on the display the artist name, track name, station name, ect..

If you have a pionner radio with ip-bus then its xm ready

you'll need a tuner ($200) and a xm antenna they have a couple different kinds

of antennas ($80-120)

and thats basicly it..

Reception is great in urban areas because they use repeaters that receive the signal

and amplifly it. In less popular areas your only receiving from the sattellite and if you go

under a bridge or something it may cut out for a second, but i'll never static.

You can preview the tunes at http://www.xmradio.com

Hope I helped..
