If you guys are going to post such crap, post a link where it says it's going to be taken out of our taxes next year. I got back 510$, I made under 30, the site said I was getting back 600$, good enough for me.

It's an advance on expected tax liability NEXT year... not any kind of rebate on taxes paid already.

Not every adult who makes over $3k will get $600.... it could be as low as $300, if you didn't have any tax liability this year. I paid NO federal income tax this year, so my wife and I will get $300 each and we should get $300 for my son, for a total from what I gathered of $900...

Everyone is assuming if you made over $3000 in gross income that you'll be getting $600 per person, which just isn't true. And keep in mind, this amount you're getting NOW IS going to affect you next year. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/fyi.gif.9f1f679348da7204ce960cfc74bca8e0.gif So remember that when you're *****ing next year about getting a smaller tax return...

Of course, the outgoing administration is only looking for a public opinion poll boost in the short term, and they'll let next year's administration take the heat when everyone gets less tax rebate next year. It's typical sleight-of-hand in politics... rob from Peter to pay Paul. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

I stand corrected.... from irs.gov

What is it? It's an economic stimulus payment that more than 130 million households will receive starting in May. It's not taxable, and it won't reduce your 2007 or 2008 refund or increase the amount you owe when you file your 2008 return.

Those lower income families or individuals would end up with a) a smaller tax return next year or b) end up having to pay.

It's all about disposable income and ability to make that $300-600 up in the next year. Some people can do it, some can't.

it would make sense if it comes outta taxes next year, or why wouldn't the lower class get more to boost economy?
The lower class is less likely to spend the money. They are more likely to pay off debt...which stimulates nothing.

The best class to give it to is those making 60-120k...as they are in the best position to blow it.

It does not effect the outcome of the next years tax return.

I disagree... I think lower-income people as a whole will be more likely to make large, unnecessary and foolish purchases with this money, and then go back to living their lives scraping by paycheck-to-paycheck. They'll just do it with a new iPhone, or a new amplifier and subs, or 20" rims or whatever.

It's sad, but I've just seen it too many times. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif

Personally, mine is going to pay bills and help me move across the country. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/frown.gif.a3531fa0534503350665a1e957861287.gif
