Somehow ****ing busted the odometer and trip in my cougar. Took me like a month to realize it. I noticed on the way home today, I glance down and see 148693, Im like wait a minute, Ive done a lot of driving in the past few weeks thats not right. Then I push in the trip to reset it, and I drove the rest of the drive home, about 5 miles from where I was at. And nothing, neither registered a digit.

Not in any rush to fix it, but I think something behind the dash cluster may have come loose or something. Im guessing this happened back when I still had the BTL in but it took me till now to notice.

Weird, but yeah agree with top post.. prob a fuse, when my mileage quit.. my speed ometer and everything crapped out. i didnt bother fixing it.. even though it was prob just a bad odometer cable

there is a plastic gear that strips behind the odometer ...about $35.00 replace it when you sell the car...your speedometer will work fine

Maybe if I had an electrical display for the mileage, theres nothing electrical involved in this style cluster. The speedo and odometer share the same cable iirc.
