I have a 1990 cavalier z24 with everything except for power windows, I also have a 1200watt rms system and a Ungo alarm.

Anyways the problem i have is that the heater fan and the daytime running lights continue to operate after I shut the ignition off, the only way to get them to shut offf is to play with the heater controls. Its cold up here in canada right now and i was thinking maybe somthing electrical froze up, or the alarm is causing this or some sort of relay has gone bad.

Has anyone else experienced this kind of problem with their car? and what causes this? how do i fix it?

if the alarm is hooked up to the lights that could be part of the problem. i know newer chevy's you can turn the drl's off by playing w/the whatever they want you to. look in the owners manual(in my 2000 silverado ihad you could turn the drl's off by flicking the high beams on off 4 times w the ign off i think)

i know that's just a band aid but that's all i could think of!

Yeah it could be a relay or a bad connection in the controls. Grab the manual and it should tell you which relay controls the heater fan and daytime running lights.

...does your car have "twilight" controls to set how long you want your headlamp to stay on after you leave the car? Check that too.

u been had
