Coincidently....
Today I was in my buddys truck following him, he was moving a big farm tractor a few miles down the road, had choppers on the back which took up 2 whole lanes. We were on a 4 lane with a grass median in between, no shoulder for him to scoot over on.
I was in the right lane and all of a sudden some soccer mom comes up on the left side doing about 70, and my buddy was pegged out at 25 mph. She tries to squeeze in between him and the median, which is about 1-2 ft of paved road between the edge of the choppers and the grass, in her dodge caravan. Of course, she slams her brakes when she realizes she cant make it, and loses control, slides down into the median, slides sideways in the grass for about 50 yards (for some reason i can't understand it didn't roll) and clips a sign with her front end doing about 20 mph sideways before stopping.
I understand now why a lot of minivans are made to be the safest vehicles in collisions.
