Wiring Subs in box

Hey Guys -

I just got my new subs and my new box and my new amp and I just need to know how to wire my subs in the box. The box has 2 chambers and each side has their own push-spring hookup's on the outside and on the inside there are just 2 little metal parts that te wire goes through I'm guessing? Do all I need to do it wrap the wire around the little metal loops and then to each of the subs (red to +, black to -, obviously)? And then screw them in and hook up my amp right?

you can't just wrap the wires around the tabs, they will vibrate loose. you need a solid mechanical connection as well as a good conductive connection. either solder the wrapped wire to the posts or use crimp-on connectors (you will be better off soldering them too).

if i remember correctly you have: two 12" kfcw3005 svc at 4ohm and a kac829 rated at 100w X 2 at 4ohm.

wire one sub to each channel of the amp (stereo mode): plus (+) to plus (+)and neg (-) to neg (-).

How would I crimp the connections to the metal tabs? There is nothing to crimp them to?

the connectors get crimped to the wire and just slide onto the tabs. make sure the connectors are tight when you slide them on the tabs. gently squeeze with pliers prior to sliding onto the tabs to ensure a snug fit.

Thanks for the information. One more question...what type of connectors should I use? Butt connectors? Are the ends big enough when they are crimped together?

there are connectors made for the tabs... i think they are called spade connectors. go to a radio shack or something like that and tell them what you want to do and they will be able to hook you up (pun intended)!
