Wiring of Subs

I have 2 infinity 1232w reference subs. Im looking at the manual right now, and it says that it can be wired to 2 or 8 ohms. So if I have 2 subs hooked up @ 2 ohms, would that mean that i have a 4 ohm load? Or can i have both subs going @ 2 ohms?

Thanks in advance

I take it they are dual 4 ohm voice coils.??? But to answer your question it depends on how you have them wired to your amplifier. If you have all the voice coils wired in parallel to the amplifier your gonna have a 1 ohm load. Dual 4 ohm wired in a parallel is 2ohm, then if you wire your subs in parallel with each other 2ohms and 2ohms is 1 ohm in parallel. I would wire the voice coils in series to get 8ohms from each sub then wire the subs in parallel to get back to a 4ohm load. Bridge your amplifier on that and call it good.

What amplifier do you have???

Thanks for the suggestion, but that was not my question. My question was if i could run 2 infinity 1232w references in 2 ohms. It shows that I can on Wiring options but it kinda confused me. I thought that it would be running @ 4. Can someone please clear this up for me? Thanks
