You know how I know you're gay? You keep saying I said stuff I didn't say.
I didn't "basically state I don't understand" anything. I said what you were talking about is not relevant to the discussion.
When you write a post that shows you don't understand things, that is the equivalent of you saying you don't understand things. If you post that you are on your fifth beer, you don't need to tell us you like beer for us to recognize the fact. Anyone who complains about price increases but also says time and things like inflation have no relevance to price changes has basically said they do not understand the basic concepts. Logical deduction.
You know how I know you're gay? You have an historical and insatiable lust for man juice.
Is that the best you can do? A 4th grader's attempt at an insult? You really should put more effort into it, pizza boy. Maybe ask your babysitter to help you out instead of watching movies on your "home entertainment system" laptop.
Prices have been dropping for decades on a graph that people can manipulate with whatever metrics they want to make it display whatever they need to fit the agenda.
The same metrics that you use to claim things were great under Trump are now metrics that are being used to "fit the agenda"? The same metric that have been in use since before you were born, and can all be verified through multiple methods. Interesting.
You know how I know you're gay? Your son has a poster of WHAM in his room but you gave it to him so you could gaze at it.
This was an attempt, but a really weak one. A complete fail of logic. But you're good at failing. So...kudos?
You do know that FEDERAL minimum wage is $7.25 per hour still right? So let's go ahead and talk about your inflation in a relevant conversation. Shall we? July 24th 2009 $7.25 per hour becomes the Federal minimum wage. Just over 13 years ago.
Min wage has no relevance in the discussion of real prices. That you bring it up shows you have no clue to what you are even arguing.
In 2010 the average annual salary was $$26.363 and gas averaged $2.79/gallon nominal price. In 2021 the average salary was $51,480 and gas averaged $3.01 nominal.
Wages doubled and gas went up NOMINALLY 10%. Let that sink in. Or ask your babysitter what it might mean when looking at the real price over time.
July 2009 the National Average gas price was $2.68 per gallon and the minimum wage was $7.25
July 2022 the National Average gas price was $4.66 per gallon and the minimum wage IS $7.25
Since you mentioned it twice, tell us what this means in the context of the real price of gasoline over time. Do you think that b/c the Federal minimum wage is what all employers pay, or do you think that's the min wage in every sate? Do you think that b/c the Federal minimum has not gone up that everyone is making the same salary in 2022 that they did in 2009?
Maybe YOU are, but I can assure you the rest of America is not.
Your logic is flawed.
Is a person making the federal minimum wage of $7.25 per hour in 2022 paying more or less than the person making the exact same federal minimum wage in 2009 for a gallon of gas?
Not enough information to answer accurately.
BUT - If the 2022 person is driving a car that has followed the trend and is getting double the gas mileage of the 2009 person's car, then they are using 50% less gas. $4.66 is less than double $2.68, so the 2022 person is paying less in gas expenses.
If they are driving the exact same car, then the 2022 person is paying more.
