Good question. I’d have to say investigation of facts because it’s been my job for many years.
I do like to know things about a lot of subjects, though. Makes it easy to converse with a wider variety of people, and I’m inquiring by nature.
My observation of that would be that it seems to have mad you confrontational and possibly less willing to take peoples word.

I 100% agree. It was just a point I was making. There are people who still make the minimum and those people and people making lower hourly wages are the ones affected the most by this inflation/recession. They way Rob speaks about it is that it is no more than a minor inconvenience. It may very well be that, for him but there are literally millions of Americans that it has become a burden having Biden in the White House and all the money printing these people are doing.
Biden hasn't intentionally improved my life in any way. I was kind of excited to get fired because of his vaccine mandate, but that fell through... "Don't underestimate Joe's ability to fu*k things up"!
Not to mention that many states have min wages that are well above Federal min.
I heard talk of states raising their minimum wage, but I didn't know that it actually happened. Has it helped or hurt those states overall? Did more employers in those states increase or decrease their starting wage as a result?

One of my worries now is if this all passes and things get back to a manageable normal what is going to happen to my pay? If prices move back down to reasonable levels for goods and services is my pay going to suffer or will I be let go so they can hire someone in at a lower wage. That would blow. I am in a position now where I make "I buy what I want" money again.

Inflation tends to stifle job growth...so if things start coming back down I'm betting things will be good for those employed and more opportunities for those unemployed and more openings for people making low wages to move up to better paying positions...just my opinion and I got money riding on it in the market 🤣

I have always been of the opinion that people should be able to back what they say. I was taught young to be a critical and analytical thinker.
My personal opinion is that it results in a better life.
Then again, some people get along and are happy just gliding through life thoroughly unaware, like Mr Magoo.
If they’re happy an we don’t end up having to support them, good on them.

I understand but what I have seen you do is demand that someone back up what they say. Why would you not just ask them why? Why did you come to that or How did you come to that opinion or conclusion. Demanding they back it up is, well rude and aggressive. At least if you ask them questions, genuinely ask them why or how... a civil conversation can follow. I am not telling you to do that but I will ask you why wouldn't you ask them how or why?

unfortunately i do

set deck to 4.5 inches. cut entire yard.

refill tank

lower deck to 3 inches

do it all over again

and thats twice a week haha
I used to tell people they wouldn't have to call us (the lawn fertilizing company I worked with) if they watered and cut the grass correctly. Some of the most beautiful lawns I have seen were well groomed St Augustine grass yards in Florida. Thick, dark green, level with no dollarweed. It killed me when I saw scalped yards down there. Cut down to the crowns and they would call us complaining that our fertilizer was killing their yard lol.

Good question.
I guess I see a thread like this as more of a debate than a discussion or conversation, per se. In a face-to-face situation, one-on-one, I would likely have the conversation. In face-to-face amongst a group though, in retrospect it seems to just jump right to the debate instead of people asking “why do you think this”? when someone throws out a thought.
Seen it happen plenty of times about a variety of topics, not just politics, economics, religion, etc.

Fair enough.
