Will this combo work?

I have two JGT GT-1081 sub's and a Crunch P225 amp i just want to know if the subs are going to be able to handle the power the amp puts out. I've never delt with systems with this much wattage before.

Do you mean jbl gt1081?

Your subs will be fine. I'll assume you are indeed talking about the jbl 1081 and that the subs are 8 ohms. If I were you I'd bridge your amp and run your subs paralell for a 4 ohm mono load. That should give them each around 200, maybe 250 rms. See http://www.jbl.com for box specs. I'd probably go with ported if I were you.

Gee I doubt any subs can handle the CRUSHING power of your crunch amp = )

I had some GT subs before, both 15" and 10", I put them in a ported box and gave them double the rms watts they were rated at, had them for several years then sold them about three years ago they are still being played hard
