I had a friend who does a lot of speaker work with home audio suggest that when I make my box I should put lead sheeting between two pieces oof 3/4" board. Will this mess up the sound of the subwoofer or be beneficial like it was for my friend?

I imagine it would help cut down the resonance of the enclosure. But good *** would it be heavy //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

and such a stealthy security system. imagine a would be thief grabbing the box and ending up with a hernia!! he'd sure would be easy to catch!!!//content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/biggrin.gif.d71a5d36fcbab170f2364c9f2e3946cb.gif

Those guys are right...Home is different than car...Weight isn't as important...you can always brace the floor! Check out the Dynamat board...it does that same thing. You can also use two sheets of thinner Birch and sandwich regular dynamat between them for the same effect...

Go pick up a car-load of friends and notice how your car handles differently...would you want that all the time?
