will hifonics ZX6000 be enough to power L5 10's??

Ok guys, I am ready to purchase 2 Kicker 10" dual 4 ohm coil L5's, but I am looking for an amp to match up to them. I am looking at the Hifonics Zx6000 which will give out 300x2 @ 2ohms or 600x1 @ 4 ohms. Will this be enough power for these subs in a fairly small sealed enclosure?

I figure, which ever way that I wire them, they will each receive 300 watts.

Well, that is another part of my confusion.

According to Crutchfield, the power rating is

>power range 50-450 watts RMS (225 watts per coil)

According to Woofersetc

>Power range 50-450 watts RMS (225 watts per coil)

According to Sounddomain

>Recommended RMS Power: 450W

According to Kicker

>Max Rec Amplifier Power (WATTS RMS) 450

So being that I have 2 different power ratings. I'm not exactly sure (I've never owned DVC subs before).

Power Is 450 Watts Rms So That's 900 Watts Total U'll Need To Push THE 2.

Zx600 Isn't Enough, Try A Z1000d Or Bx1000d

Well, I purchased my sub amp today...thanks a bunch for the advice. I ended up getting the Hifonics BX1500D for a totally smoking price (under $300 NIB).

You don't NEED to feed a sub it's recommended RMS for it to work well. Get that idea out of your head! The 1500 will be more than enough power. Take it easy on the gain control and the volume.

I agree that it is not a NEED to feed them the RMS power, but the reason I went with this amp, besides the killer prices, was because as you noted, as long as I keep the gain down and be careful with the volume, this amp will provide me with enought power to be able to push 4 L5's and not just the 2 that I was hoping for.

I know I can fit 3 in my truck after doing some serious thinking..now if I can find out where to put the 4th....ohh yeah..finally this truck will have some kicking beats pretty soon.

yeah no kidding we have a lightning audio 150 watts rms , pushing 2 l5 15" and it bumps harder than the jl audio 1000/1
