Why does my Pioneer DEH-P7400MP flash a blue screen?

My head unit is a Pioneer DEH-P7400MP MP3 receiver. Like every 10 seconds, the display backround will go from black, to blue, and at the same time invert the on-screen text. It goes back and forth like every 10 seconds. Now I've made sure that the HU is not in demo mode. What would cause this? I couldn't find anything in the FAQs from Pioneers website. Otherwise the HU works great, no problems what so ever. Thanks in advance!

Try this turn your HU off. While it is off hit the number 5 button for your radio tuning. Then turn it back on. That should fix your problem. It is some kind of annoying thing that pioneer puts in their HU's. I think it is supposed to protect the screen but all it really does is annoy the hell out of people.

Wow...thank you SO much! I've had my head unit over a year and the screen switching colors has bugged the hell out of me. Especially when it's at night and I'm driving and all of a sudden it lights up my car. I figured it was something that you couldn't get rid off.
