Why does my parents car have such good door speakers and how do I get that much bass out my door speakers?

Okay so I am a bit baffled. My parents currently own a 2007 Mercedes E280 CDI Sport with the stock sound system. This consists of just 7 speakers in the doors, windscreen pillars and 1 In the centre of the dash. Now whenever I hear the sound system in their car and play my own music the bass can hit REALLY low frequencies and it honestly sounds like there is a subwoofer in the car (there isn't, not in the boot or even under the seat or anything like that). Now I want to have bass like this again in my new car (I had a 12" sub in my last) but I don't want to lose my boot. Their sound system sounds really crisp and deep and I would be more than happy if I could get sound out of my own door speakers like that. Does anyone know how I would be able to do this? My guess is that the doors in their car are just very well sound dampened out of the factory? But I'm not sure. Thanks.

It's always leaned that direction. Not sure how cheap you can really get anything done these days. Deadening and custom mounting...

You're not going to know until you test with a meter. Typically even carpeting a box as opposed to painting is going to lose a few tenths.

These are decent budget subs. The box design isn’t bad at 5 cubes for these, but I’d drop it down just a little and raise port tuning up to 32...

The correct answer is yes, you want both left and right so you get low end information from both channels. It is very common for recording...
