Why do all the BEST amps always get discontinued?

It might be worth it if you have bottomless pockets or bragging rights. Other than that, I don't see the need for something like that in a daily driver. There are some really good class A/B amps out there these days.
And there have been for decades.

Saying:
Amps are constantly improving. Nostalgia is why people say old stuff was better.
is just plain dumb and ignorant.
 
But for the most part. MONEY.
Agreed. For the most part it's money based. Not selling as many amps are you where 10 years ago ? Time to skimp the internals a bit to increase profit margin to make up for the lost.

There's also been a large influx of flea market/online only amps hitting the market the last 10 years and that's making things more competitive. A $500 name brand amp in 2010 is now going to have to lower to $400 in 2020 if they want to close the gap to the $250-300 modern "budget online only" equavalent.

10 years of inflation/cost + having to sell the amp for $100 cheaper = sacrifices have to be made
