Whining/Whistling Sound coming from speakers?

Out of nowhere on my way to the store, my speakers from inside the car made this loud whistling/whining sound. (You cant even hear the music). The sound was very high pictched. I brought it into a local car audio shop and they told me that one channel of amp was bad. (Autotek SS 600.4 amp). They replaced the amp with a pioneer 4 channel amp and the music and sound played like normal.

Even after the new amp was installed, i am still hearing a whistle sound coming from the speakers. At idle, the whistle sound is noticable, but when i accelerate, the whistle gets louder. The shop was closing so they couldnt fix it in time so i have to bring it in tomorrow.

Anyone know what problem this is? If the AMP goes bad while driving, does it mess up the RCA wires?

How can i get rid of this whistling sound from my speakers?

Please help!

(Note: Everything worked fine for 3 weeks until the amp messed up and cause this whistle/whining sound problem from my speakers)

If your RCA wires are ran on the same side of the car as your power wire there is a good chance thats your problem. Basically all you have to do is run the RCA wire on the other side.

Myth. The same voltage and current that is going through the power wire is also going through the chassis of the vehicle. If he was getting noise from the power wire, he would be getting noise from the car chassis as well and you can't very well move the RCA's away from that now can you?

Most likely the ground potential of the new amp is different than the original setup. Check the ground wire for a loose connection. You likely have a ground loop as that is the most common cause of alt noise which is pretty much what you are describing.

IMPROPER GROUNDING SOMWHERE!!! 90 percent of all whines, whistling, etc. comes from an improper grounding somwhere. Check your batteries, caps, h/u's, and particularly you AMP! I hope this works for you, cuz its an easy fix.
