i think i have it narrowed down to either the kappa infinity perfect 12.1D of the Cerwin Vega 15 DVC. take a look and tell me which one you think is more powerful. they both have a sensitivity of 96 dB. if there are any other speakers out there that are $400 and under with at least 96 dB and might be powerful or better looking let me know. Also, what amps do you think i should use?

thanks,

matt

wowo there bud 400$ a sub you are paying way to much for 400$you can get a nice ass sub or a set of them for that matter! I bet you on ebay you can get a power HX2 for less than that and I know W6's you can Perfects run about 175-190 on the net and those Vega's I am not sure but do more research I searched 3 months before i bought and i got 2 type R alpines 135 my opinion best speaker under 175$ and the sensitivity rating of 96db is just what the sub hits at a certain watt the higher the less watts the sub will need to hit max and lower more power unually fed to it on rms someone please correct me if i am wrong I dont want to give false info.

DO NOT BASE YOUR PICK ON SENSITIVITY..ok i am fine now..... if you want loud clean bass determin the amount of cash you wanna spend total..amp sub,install box then decide on size of box....then get info about your car.......then select a speaker amp combo. this is as sure fire way to guarantee happiness. the 2 woofers you picked are total oppisites just to let you know lol.

why are they completely opposite? i have a 94 dakota extended cab. why don't i base my choice on decibals? those determine how much of a thump it produces right? 2 or 3 subs that will hit really hard but have good to semi good sound quality. how about the kicker solo baric l7 15? just two of them?

well lets see do you like hanging bass? on rap music it is fine but to someone who listens to music it will sound sloppy, just as with a car you have muscle cars and sports cars .....sports cars go fast outside of just going straight right? more control ..... or better yet listen to a sq car with digital design subs then a comparable car with a jl or idq sub you will see what i mean.

well here is my 2 cents think of this wisely ok? ( i am 31 and have spent enough money on this stuff to have bought a good house) 500- 2000 or whatever you are going to spend is alot of money, research what it is that you want, ask questions sales people will tell you anything to get a buck so ask more than one person and decifer what you know and understand...next listen be veryyyyyy subjective to the speakers you are buying, get an idea of the set up you want then pick the sub you feel will work the best. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif i know what i know and i know what it is like being un happy and broke from listening to someone makin cash off me just dont fall into catagory of "luck of the draw" be a drawer of what it is you want..and so what if it takes a few days longer and might cost you a little more the peace of mind alone is worth it.

Also, how do you think it would sound with 2 infinitay kappa perfects under the back seat or on it, and 2 kicker solo baric L7's ar 2 rockford fosgate power HX2's in the bed with a fiberglass cover on?

let me know,

matt

ok let me ask you 3 questions - i am not making money on this so be honest.

1 how much are you WILLING to spend total? amp subs box ?

2 how much room are you willing to lose?

3 what music do you like? give me a list of a few songs and what it is you want it to sound like

well if you are goin to throw an outdoor concert they would sound good lol but if you are wanting to subject the driver and passengers to the music i would suggest staying in the cab. are you willing to lose your back seat? or just set a box on it? or just going with 10's under them?

nelly, godsmack, ludacriss, metallica, etc.... i don't want it to be drug out, i would like it to hit every beat not blend them all together. i was thinking aobut have a custom mad box that was a pyrimid type thing that sat in the corner of the back seat and could hold 3 12"s or maybe 4 10"s. i would like to be able to fit at least one in the back and i can put 2 10"s under the seats.

matt

well a sitting box isnt as good as a build to box (earthquake theory) but why not just have the box moveable? and the ininity and the kickers you mentioned would be fine for the performance you are looking for.. just know you will need an amp to power them ( i would suggest at least a jl 500.1 and a whole onslought of suitable class d amps) but make sure your electrical system can provide for your amp.
