Which amps? PPI refurbished or New Soundstream Rubicons??

Okay, I am trying to step up one notch and upgrade my amps. I am dumping my cheap Coustic and Bazooka amps and stepping it up with some better stuff.

I have narrowed it down to either Soundstream or Precision Power.

The 2 amps I need will power the following:

1- (Crystal CSC 60s) 2x80 watts RMS @ 4 Ohms

2- ( 2 JL 10w3s) 1 x 500(600 would be even better!) @ 2 Ohms RMS

So for Soundstream, my choices are:

1- Rubicon 300-2 (75x2@4Ohms rated 12.5V) ***NEW***

2- Rubicon 500-1 (500x1 @ 2 Ohms rated 12.5V) ***NEW***

For Precision Power my choices are:

1- PPI PCX-280 2 (2x80@4Ohms rated???V) ***REFURBISHED***

2- PPI PCX- 1250 (1x500@2 Ohms rated?V) ***REFURBISHED***

The amps will run about the same price:

1- $ 160

2- $220

The warranty on the Rubicon is 1 or 2 years cant remember exactly

The waranty on the refurb. PPI's is only 90 days.

The other concern is that these are going on an amp rack flush mounted behind the back seats of a tiny 90' honda civic. The Soundstream amps are smaller and would probably fit a little better. The other concern is that, the amp rack doesnt have great air circulation, so the cooler running amp would be preferred.

The PPI's are selling out fast so I really need to figure this one out!!

Also, does anybody know if PPI amps are generally underrated power-wise>?

i don't know much about the new rubicons, but the old ones were the shiznit! and i'd stay away from anything pcx! i really don't care for the newer ppi stuff personally.

Cool thanks for the help and the correction on the 500-1

I ended up getting a used Soundstream Reference 500sx and plan on getting another one so I will have one bridged for the subs and one in stereo for the components
