I have the following in a 94 c1500 chevy truck, extra cab:

-Alpine 9811 Head unit

-Diamond Audio M6 661 components

-Avionixx 440.4 amp to power components

-2 JL W0 subs

-Alpine MRD-M300 V12 class D amp to power subs

Now..I listen to a lot of jazz, so midbass is really important. However, im not finding it! Even with the sub powered off, im really not hearing that much. Atleast not what im expecting, especially them being M6's. Im sure i have it setup wrong. If anyone can set me in the right direction, please do! Thank you!

well to help you out,i would check the polarity of the sreaker wiring to the crossovers from the amp, then i would check the crossover on the amp,set it to full, not lp,or hp,then adjust your level on the amp crossover to your preference, but as you know whenever you set an audio system up start with the head unit controls first,i.e./....... set bass, mid bass, trebels and volume level first then go to the amp crossover and adjust the gains from there.hope this helps you out let me know.

first of are u using the high pass Xover on the head unit or on the amplifier? u need to pick one and one only. either set ur head unit one on flat and use the high pass on the amp or switch ur amplifier Xover on OFF and pick one off the head unit. Make sure u turn up the subwoofer level and turn up the bass a bit. Also make sure ur gain is set correctly with bass boost all the way down.

so the crossover on the amp running the components should be turned off??? I was reading this and was wondering. I think I have the crossover on my amp on and my HU. I should fix this tomorow.

no no dont get confused, all im saying is u need to use only ONE Xover. whether its the high pass for the speakers or low pass for the subs. only use one whether its on the deck or amp.

ok, for ur situation u have a 9813 and a 2 channel pushing ur speakers and a mono pushing ur sub.

so u have 1 hpf on ur deck and 1 hpf on ur 2 channel amp.

u also have 1 lpf on ur deck and 1 lpf on ur mono amp for ur sub.

so for high pass filter u want to use either the one on ur deck, or the one on ur 2 channel amp. for the low pass filter u want to use either the one on ur deck or the one on ur mono amp. But dont use both, for example, dont have ur hpf on ur deck set to 80hz then set ur hpf on ur 2 channel amp set to something.

with my setup i use my hpf on my deck set to 120hz and have my hpf on the profile 2 channel amp switched to OFF. While for my lpf i put the one on my deck on FLAT and used the LPF on my viper mono amp tuned to about 110hz.

hopefully that makes sense now.
