where to get wire

some people on this forum mentioned to go to walmart and get wire for my friends system, what exact wire do i buy from there? is it safe to buy from there?

i have wal mart wiring(scosche) and it has worked fine. all wire is the same in my opnion

FRITO- I see why you are bagging on the perfectly adequate Wal-mart kit now. You are trying to sell your own more expensive stuff. Streetwires has always been on the expensive side. Darvex, which you mentioned in the other thread, sells Stinger which is also a bit pricey. Knukonceptz is good if you know exactly what you need to get going and can wait for shipping, but there are still places to get the wire itself that are much cheaper. If the Wal-mat kit will suit your needs, there is no reason to spend more for something else.

actually I have hated the walmart since day 1. i could care less what he bought or wheter he bought from me.

im just giving him more options.

i think my prices are great if you just want 4 ga or or somthing custom. for the price your getting awesome quality stuff.

I hate it when people skimp out on wiring. its a one time thing that will run everrything else in your car. if you properly plan on what you want and try to meet future needs at the same time you wont look back and say ****, the fuse on the walmart kit ***** and have to go and buy a local fuse for $5 or more. or run the rca and install the whole kit and find that the RCAs **** and have no shielding whatso ever and have to go drop $20 on rcas.

if you have money invested into nice equipment i suggest you spend a lil more on better quality wire. yea it might be $20 more or you might not be able to drive down the street and pick it up at walmart, but if you do it right the first time upgrading ect will be much easier in the end.

I got my 4 gauge rockford fosgate wire from best buy

I got my kit from Walmart- 4 gauge. Everything was fine, but found out i do indeed need a bigger fuse, but that's just because im pushin a lot of power. But also after I bought that etc., check out some pawn shops! They usually have bulk rolls of quality new wire.

I have always been partial to welding cable myself. Very pure copper for a good price.
