Where To Get L7's

That was on the dash with the AC mic. mine was wedged under the dash with the new TL. It was tuned to 36. I didn't think I did too bad, 1st place at my 1st comp.

Like I said, a good daily driver with quality SPL numbers. My SX takes the cake IMO. And I basically challenged somekook to hit 143 with a single L7.

I'm not getting to serious about this though (I hope) just haven't had good experiences with the L7 series.
You don't think a L7 15 could do 143 db's? I don't know what your smoking but I'll take your bet!! Now I'm not a kicker fan but I did have one and they are fukin loud. Also not saying it's better then your sx (never heard one) but I had a xxx 15 and a 10 and I must say I was a little dissapointed.

I didn't say an L7 couldn't hit 143, I'm more or less challenging that person to do it.

How about you read the rest of my posts before running your mouth.

besides the cone area, why do you say that Mike? Is it the power rating? Because the L7 is rated at 750 rms and the SX is rated at 1000. We all know that RE subs are underrated, whether Kicker's are or not, I'm not sure.

The sensitivity is also about 2 dB's higher on the SX. That may play a factor if you are underpowering it. Then the SX would probably win also.

Your statement seems to have no real argument. Besides the surface area, you listed no reason why the L7 would "OWN" an SX in SPL.

How high did David say he hit with 2 12" SX's? in the mid 150's with 2 36.1's.

Belive that was with MTs, Ive seen L7s do lower to mid 50s also...theres a guy in south american i think (?) that has two 15L7s and two 1200.1s and is doing 155-156 sooooo BOTH ARE LOUD SUBS, in other words its all in the install

didn't some kid from team wattsup hit high 140's with a 8"L7 for some comp put on by termpro forum. crazy 8"s i think it was called, in 2003.

I think it was a 147.x....preaty **** nice IMHO...havent seen an RE do somthing that nice....and i dont have shiat against RE, just stating the facts.

im sure an L7 15" could hit 143. by the way L7 15" is rated at 1000 RMS
Well a 12" L7 is 750 and a 12" SX is 1000. Then there is more power handling for RE.

BTW, have you ever competed? j/w

more cone=more sound reproduction + more power = LOUD
Where are you getting more power? The 15's of each rate the same rms. The 12's are in favor of RE.

I said besides cone area!!!

If you compete in meca, and you have an 15" SX and an amp which puts you at the very top of your class, then you switch the SX with a 15" L7...guess what...you will bump up to the next class.

why do L7's have so many sq award but they sound like crap every time people on this forum (including me) install them. i have finally came up to this conclusion

SX=sounds cleaner than L7

L7=is louder than SX

ghs wrestler 171: ALL RE subs have excellent parameters

ghs wrestler 171: that's why they are so good

Im sorry but TS specs mean nothing when your putting a sub on a mic....
