I do agree that some people need to watch where they are jammin at, at stop lights and crap. Its annoying to me when someone rolls up bumpin in the middle of the summer when I'm chillin waiting for the light to turn green. Turning it down in neighborhoods is something to think about doing to, at least be courteous to some people out there. As for Harleys and Muscle cars, if I'm ever sleeping and hear something mean out on the streets all I ever think is **** that sounds badass. Going through neighborhoods and such on a loud bike is kind of a dick thing to do though.

I've always had a thing against Harleys the sound is just so annoying to me I really don't care if they banned them. I know it would upset the people that enjoy them but I woudln't complain about it if they got banned.

On the other hand, loud systems in cars never bother me even when I'm going to sleep. I know it sounds wierd but I actually kinda like hearing them going by, and if I'm already asleep it won't wake me up.

first, stock harley's are not loud, if you put aftermarket pipes, you can still do it with respect... However...

It is the japanese ricers that sound awful when they attempt to sound like a real bike...

Everybody needs to quit whining and *****!ng like the little puss1es you are (whining about "boom" cars and about loud bikes) and focus on stuff that makes a real difference.....

Why do people make their hondas and what not sound like its fartin in a can? if it didnt make that noise i could understand, but why i ask, why would you wanna have a car that sounded like *** when you drove around?

True, but for those cars that are just plain loud theres nothing you can do about it. In my car if you keep it under 2,500 then it isnt loud at all, once the revs start getting into the 3,000 area is when she starts to open up. The cars will never sound like a real car, so sounding like a bike is all they have to shoot for.

Before I swapped the pipes on my HD it was much quieter than my stock SRT-4. Now with the 2:1 it's about the same.

There are disrespectful assholes that ride Harleys, but most Harley riders are older and mature enough that they try to keep their hobby from bothering other people. I know that I make very sure that I don't rev the engine in the neighborhood and I'm just gentle on the throttle in general at night in residential areas. I can't say the same for a lot of the punks that come cruising by with their stereo cranked at 2 in the AM.

An inconsiderate prick is an inconsiderate prick, regardless of what their annoyance of choice is. Most of them whine about their rights and think that they are the only person on the planet. They fail to realize the once their exercise of their rights begins to impede on the rights of others that it is no longer their right to proceed. They guys that pull up to a stoplight with their stuff blaring and see that it is annoying the person in the next car and proceed to turn it up louder, fall into the inconsiderate prick category. They have demonstrated that they do not be trusted with the responsibility that comes with having the right to have a powerful stereo. These are the idiots you have to thank for noise ordinances and the like. If it's obvious that your stuff is bothering someone else, it's your responsibility to turn it down. If you are too immature to do that then you deserve to pay a fine and IMO $100 isn't nearly enough to teach you your lesson.

where i live almost every night of the week there is one specific car that goes by, the thing sounds like it doesnt even have a muffler its loud enough that it trips the shock sensors on my alarm and makes the wall in my bedroom vibrate and he isnt th eonly one but he is the loudest . now why is this not against the law but if someone had music half as loud people would complain? sure you could use the arguement well people CHOOSE to install those loud music system to be annoying. but the same thing could be said about people running straight pipes on huge american trucks ( tis the thing where i live) . i am not kidding when i say the exhaust from MOST of these things are louder than my system lol. but this is ok. i dont think its anywhere near fair.

now understand im a person that believes people should be able to do what they want as long as it doesnt hurt anyone. but fair is fair loud noise is loud noise no matter the source i dont care if its a super riced out car that sounds like a blender , hugomungous old school muscle car , or big speakers etc. i wish everyone would stop all the whining about every little thing going om . instead why dont the whiners focus thier attention on something that really matters . ive lived in some cities where the fine for loud music is worse than driving through a red light without a seltbelt on and with a suspended license come on is loud music really that dangerous? lol . for this same reason i have 2 layers of sound dead and makes my wagon feel like a **** tank and im thinking of adding some more .hehe

Open exhaust pipes are illegal, federally illegal to the tune of $10,000 dollars per day of operation with the illegal exhaust. Goes for bikes, too.

but it needs to be enforced regularly. probably 4/10 harleys in my area have straight pipes on them. cops tend to focus more on audio systems than those though. that is the whole point of this thread. both are illegal, one seems to be the focus for cops though.

Pure teenage discrimination.......thats all it is for the 5-0. They passed a law last year in Aurora, Illinois saying if the cops caught you with your subs on they confiscate it on the spot. I PERSONALLY GUARANTEE that if someone had the time and money to take this issue and ALL of the other noise ordinace issues to the supreme court concerning decibel levels, atleast 7 out of 10 would be declared unconstitutional and we would no longer have this problem.

50ft is friggin ridiculous. Some ricers are gay and put the fart cans on the back of their cars JUST to make it loud. Others do put loud aftermarket pipes on their bikes or ricers for the increased flow and performance. I got harassed about my system the other day for shaking the coins in a gas station cash register and apparently breaking a window on the main drag. Straight pipes are legal in ks. So I say fvck it CRANK IT UP! If I see someone pushing a stroller or somthing then of course I turn it down. Otherwise youll find me with windows down, mirrors shaking, and grinning from ear to ear.
