Muhaha, you know a thread has arrived when you get an owl pic. Alright i think i inderstand now. There are many sercets that comprise the SPL scene. that was not something that iw as aware of. I didnt realise how head to head you folks were. I really dont care about any of that. Best of luck to you all. I just wanna know what is the best size for my 3 10" 4 ohm type Rs. Ported? Sealed? Out with it. The rest of you that are SQL, more power to you. Devestate. None of my bussiness.

you may not like him be hes the one taking home first place trophies this isnt overclocking a cpu where everyone has the exact same setup and cant get the number
i only mad it this far so sorry if pointed out but most people here don't care about these things and the questioned asked are simply a attempt to become more clear on a subject. I mean, if someone's trying to compete on the level as some of you guys here then they simply should have their own secrets. Most people here don't care that much and when asking a question like the OP has here, then being flamed for it is kinda rediculous. As said in my previous post, I have no problem getting answers to my question, I just know how to search and problem solve, and i'm probably in the top 10% dumbest people here.

I do agree that alot of questions asked by newer members can be figured out themselves, so why not just ignore the threads? Or simply tell them that it's a simple problem with a simple answer. I dunno, I see both sides and have no problems with the way the forum runs now so w/e.

I'll toss in my idea //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Unlike PC mods, SPL/SQ are VERY subjective. About 50 times a day someone WILL make a thread that goes like.... "how loud will this be? Will these sound awesome?" ..... and a lot of people on here get frustrated by that (I don't because I'm nice). It's always the same answer to these questions.... IT DEPENDS. It depends on the amp and how you set your gains. It depends what you consider "loud". It depends on what sounds good to you. It depends on the car. It depends on the enclosure you build.

Sure there are a few analogs in PC mods, RAM type, latencies, mother board used. But you still set the benchmark with a program. In audio there is no benchmark, save SPL numbers.

i was all for you until this. I'm not positive but i'm sure that if you look in the Type R sticky in the SUbwoofer subforum you will find your answer.

Read post #30... that pretty much sums it up.

The difference here is.....there are sooo many ways to do the same thing, and try to get the same result....If you ask "how can I make this get louder" someone might say, or PROBABLY WILL say "get rid of it and get this......then power it with this...." and then that goes on forever.

Everyone has their own way of doing something, and a good % think their way is the right way...granted "by the book" there is only 1 right way to do it...but we all find our own little mods here and there....ESPECIALLY with building boxes. That will be endless though.

and again, to the question you asked. People are going to tell you their opinions based on how they have heard that setup sound the best.....but you will get different dimensions from different people.

SPL is one of those things that takes a lot of trial and error + experience. Not easy to get answers for.

The thing this forum can really help you with is a nice daily driver SQL system where more times than not someone will lead you in the right direction. You just have to listen.

I suggest working on a system that you enjoy for yourself first, and once you get into it and start knowing shit... then you can sneak into the SPL scene with the knowledge that you've absorbed over time.

Wow, okay ive been reading, i didnt know how many of you live near each other and goto the same comps and stuff. That makes a diffrence. I can understand the competitive edge for that sort of thing.

First off, its a public forum. Therefore, many different people are here with their opinions. Music and its reproduction is very subjective, and like it has been said before, different cars yield different results. Trial and error is the main source of SPL competitors. On this forum, there are jackasses that always go off topic and bash regardless of the subject, but there are also many helpful people, too.

Soundsolutionsaudio.com is a great source of information and helpfull members.
