Whats the deal with Memphis subs and amps

Stop by a dealer today and was looking at the M3 subs and the Memphis Belle amps. Also they carry the eclipse line and was looking at the 8053 unit which some of you recommened to me.

My take on Memphis equipment:

Effecient amps that push a lot of power...under-recommended...small...distort at high volumes...not the best, but definately up there...

Subs are decent, they push #'s but there are definately better companies out there...like ED, Adire, RE, ID...their LVS is a waste of money I heard...

ur question is so vague tha ti dont even think it's a question.

memphis stuff is pretty good. u should see the size of their big mono amps, they small but damm they pack some serious power.

Sorry for being vague, I am trying to narrow my choices down on a system and I didnt know how the audio community looked at memphis. Is the company solid and back up there products, do the speakers sound good and how do the amps compare to say the JL or Alpine.

The company is definately solid, they back up all their stuff with a warranty, speakers are decent but not the best, their amps are considered by many to be in the top five...I'd take a Memphis amp over a JL or an Alpine amp anyday...if you go with Memphis you won't be unsatisfied...but I recommend you buy their amps over their subs.

memphis subs r pretty decent too tho, people will be happy w them lets say that. they are not in the best category nor the worst, but they are a step above the avg subs.
