What to power these puppies with?

Here
I have a pair of RE HC 12's that right now are getting about 500wrms ea from an MA Audio HK amp. I'd like to give them a bit more power so what amps would you all recommend?

Would I be better off with a two channel amp or a single D amp? I Hear D amps are generaly less reliable, where as they are more sensitive and go into protect mode more often.
