what kind of amp?

i have a 10" audiobahn aluminum sub and i dont know what kind of amp i should get or what ones will work the my sub. Its like a 6 ohm something. How many watts x 1 should the amp be and at how many ohms ex: 400 x 400w @4 ohms

sounds like a dual 6 ohm voice coil and run in parallel comes out to 3 ohms.. so should work with any amp that will bridge to 400 watts unless it's 400 per voice coil then you will need and amp that puts out 800 watts.

-would all 400 watts go into the sub or is that too weak of an amp?

Once again, this site will not let me post a new thread, so since this one is over three years old, I will go ahead and steal it.

Whats up guys. I am rebuildin the system, and the first thing I want to do is amplify my 6x9's. I have Pioneer TS-A6990R's, I bought them from:

I would like a nice 2 channel amp to power them, they can take about 80W RMS a piece. Thanks for the help.
