And &quot;gutting&quot; military spending has never been part of the Democratic Party's platform much like &quot;gutting&quot; social spending hasn't been on GOP's platform.&nbsp; However, claiming the DNC was out to gut the military has been a part of GOP rhetoric for a long time.&nbsp; So, yeah, I'm not shocked that Californians aren't protesting to have bases removed from Cali, which really isn't a viable option anyway.&nbsp; The <a href="https://democrats.org/where-we-stand/party-platform/" target="_blank">Democratic Party's platform</a> doesn't even mention defense spending or the military.</blockquote>
