I ran those Blk. Coustics like the 380,190,100s. You could almost light a a cigarete on those 380s running bridgedYeah we used to beat the piss out of those old Coustic amps. Never seen one go down unless it was installer error.
I remember those. I got rid of a couple a few years back. I cant recall which models, I do remember one was red and the other was blue. They sounded really clean. but i just wanted more power,so I sold the Blue one on old School FB for like $115 bucks, and traded the Red one for a pair of DD 5.25 mids and a set of Dayton Vifta25 tweets and paid for shippingNo matter what a LinearPower 5002 would always get it done and continue to get it done 37 years later. The Alpine 35 Japan Series were some dammned good clean amps. I still have quite a few that work excellent to this day,3522,3522s, 3513, 3525,3528,3555,3540,3517and a couple more. The little 3522 will run a nice 400 RMS sub@4ohms, Ive even ran 4 tens off of one 3525I had an Alpine amp that I got in the mid-80s (can’t remember the model number) and ran perfectly until I gave it away in the early 2010s. Can’t get more reliable than that.
Surprisingly, I think this is the first Alpine listed in this thread.
I had that Mmats amp running a pair of DVC2 SQubed HDS210s a few years back and it slammed. One best amps Ive ran and should have kept. I later put it on a pair of HDS310s. slammed like butter man.Kicker ZX-1500. Had that amp for over 10yrs and never shut down. A good runner up would be my MMATS D300HC.
Dammned good amp man. I used to have and run the BMF and TEK series. I sold those all off, recently my last two 100.2 TEKMy Crossfire vr1000d is still going strong and my electrical is not currently up to par. It doesn't care.
Those are some really nice line of amplifiers man.I’ve run many amps that were reliable. Never had any issues with any of the following:
Audison LRx
Arc Audio XXK
Alpine MRV V-12’s
Kicker ZR (late 90’s)
Rockford Fosgate Power Series
Boston Acoustic GT
Coustic (late 80’s)
Always wanted to get some of the original Xtants, about the time I got stuck on the Van Goghs! The Van Goghs were built like tanks! My Xtant amps were nearly indestructible. I treated those things horribly for years. They were even buried in snow during a blizzard when a tree branch broke my window. Still worked flawlessly. I had the little xtant 1.1 amps mounted on my doors and those things stood up to door slamming and weather great. After being buried in snow for 2 days, the 1000.1 pushed an Alpine Type R 12 into 143.5 DB that next summer.
Really nice line of amplifiers man. Expensive ones too!!Hmmm,
