what do you play at comps???

Im pretty sure all of the sanctioning bodies have their own CD. I know dbdra and usac sell them off their sites. But, if you want to test before you go, try to find a bass cd with all of the test tones on it and find your peak freq. If you really want, go to radio shack and buy a cheapo spl meter and sit in your car with the volume about half way. Play each tone and write down what the meter says. It will be gradual, but you'll see it go up, hit its peak, and head back down again.

I play a sine wave most of the time, burps arent very fun to watch IMO. The more electronics (x-overs, line driver, ect.) the harder it is to tune it to be the loudest. Keep it simple, the simpler it is to tune.

what is determined as the best kind of bass song for drive-by?
I played Master P - Pass Me The Green and was rather disappointed with my score.
heavy bass thats heard outside of the vehicle...usually the low end stuff gets you higher.

Constant fluctuating bass is usually the best when shooting in the dark.

I've found several tasty lil things about drive-by, on the new sensors.. //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

low bass isn't the best way to go... //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/smile.gif.1ebc41e1811405b213edfc4622c41e27.gif

Whats the trick for the new mics for drive-by?

^^^ I haven't figured it out. We played Pass Me Da Green, which I figured would do well since the notes are so low, but people who did worse than we did in SPL were killing us in Drive-by.
