what did i do wrong?

Explain your installation. What wires did you hook where, fuses, what size of wires, what type of amp,etc.... How do you know that there is no power going to the amp? More info please

I have a 100 watt amp....two 75 watt speakers....100 watt amp kit....connected power wire to battery, ground to metal in trunk, remote wire to back of cd player

If the fuse in your main power line near the battery is only 20 amp, then that POSSIBLY may be your problem. If you have 2 100 watt amps (I'm assuming RMS) then check to be sure your fuse is still intact. Does the power light come on, on the battery?

Check make sure all your fuses are still good. What kind of amp are you running and what impedance are you running it at? Are you sure your amp isn't getting power, and that it is not your speakers that are blown? Your fuse might be to small, try a 30
