What AWG wire is the best for a 12" sub?

i use a 14gauge to hit my 10" infinity from a 250W rms amp.... t'was perfect.... 15gauge and above ... u cannot feel the power.... 14 below.... the bass is either too muddy....

we'll wire gauge measurement sure play a role in audiophile.... funny.. but tis' true....

*just my 2 cent*:p

sorry made a mistake, it should have been what gauge wire would be alright for a 10" sub at 120W. Woops! Your right about 120W not being much for a 12" sub:crazy: I'm guessing it should be about the same? 14AWG?

14awg should be fine enough. Again it is of little concern at a lesser power. Good luck

LOL Not this debate again Chris we can point em to that other thread LOL

gooday,

what i mean was.. by changing the wires from different gauge did make the sound coming out from the speakers sounded different...

btw, in my company... we have this sound room.. and i did learn a little from the sound engineer...

anyway.. just my 2 cent... according to my ears and my setup and my car and of cos the ambient at that time... i use to tune my car late at nigh... so from my judgement and my ears...i did notice the different when i switch wire....

there is no way you could tell the difference unless you went from like 22 awg to 16 awg or something like that. and even there the difference probably wouldn't be audible.

It should work well enough for you to get solid connections. That’s about the same price I paid for this one, and I‘d bet all the cheaper...

Run 4g for power (or 1/0 if you can). There is no downside to bigger wire, and you won't have to replace it if (when) you go bigger. Speaker wire...
