What are the best alarms? I need one.

O.K.; for those of you that know your alarm systems, please tell me what the better brands and models are to go with. I'm looking to put it on a 2000 Ford F150, and i'd like it to have a glass break sensor and a transponder page ability; I would also like to add power door lock servos later.

I've seen some different models out there with the same stuff, but who are the QUALITY brands and models to go with. Also, is it all that tough to install an alarm in a vehicle if I have the right tools and factory wiring diagrams? I am quite familliar with running wires and I do nothing but quality work; just never installed an alarm before.

Well, I've personally used the clifford antijax or something. makes you input code everytime the door is opened and stuff like that, to prevent car jacking. Dunno about alarm-wise, was never broken into. It does tell you if any alarm did go off, when you open the car (by flashing the amount of times the alarm went off)

As for another brand that UI constantly hear about are Viper alarms. i think they were the first to come up with a talking alarm ("Viper ON" sounded irritating, and vandals used to smash the car up cause it talked, trying to get it to talk more). I think quite a few popele are using viper alarms here and seem to be quite satisfied with it.

I have a clifford inteliguard 8000, it has blackjax (anticarjack) does doors etc, windows if you want, glass break, those are all options. it has been the best alarm ever no probs whatsoever. you can control all sensors from the remote, it has proxitmity inside and out so you can leave windows open and no one can even reach in or the outside one will shreak when someone is getting to close (or change it to words, like a viper) Go to a clifford authorized installer is the most important thing, jason
