What are some good EQs?

First of all, I know an EQ isn't necessary but is it a good investment? Next, What are some good EQs out there? What are things to look for in an EQ?

some say an eq is not needed if you have a good system. however, i use an eq because it allows you to tune your system to have flat response. every car has it's own characteristic and by using an eq, rta, and pink noise, you can tune your system. if you don't need anything advance, i'd go with a 10 or 12-band eq. they have 15 and 30-band eq but those aren't really necessary unless you want to compete or if you have a sensitive ear. i have an alpine eq and i would recommend an eq from them.

I was on ebay this morning and was reading some specs. Some EQs had wattage and resistance, what is that about?
