weird problem with amp/headunit

the amp will work and subs play with the tuner on my friends alpine headunit, i turn the cd player on, the amp shuts off and subs wont work..what could cause this?

the amp is 1000watt sony, with 2 sony 12"s

anybody, please, its an emergency :-\...any help is greatly appreciated.

I kinda highly doubt that the current draw of the cd player motor would send an amp over it's edge....

It's gotta be in your headunit, Make sure it doesnt allow you to set eq's and stuff for the cd player and the tuner. If not...well then your HU probaly needs re-programmed...

Anyone else?
