Weight lifting help

Since I dont want to jack the other thread, lets finish the convo in here.
I need tips on how to start taking protein, IE what kinda, how much, when, etc.

I weigh around 145-150lbs right now, I workout 3 times a week for about an hour, and I do lots of high row, DB bench, and front lift stuff, with ending in abs. Im going to start doing legs on my off days I think,and adding more cardio.

I'd like to gain at least 10-15lbs.

you need to work out all your muscles, not just certain areas. you will look uneven and weird if you only work out certain areas. after you work out, you need to intake protein to repair the torn muscle tissue. i eat a tuna hoagie or a PB sandwich. you can also drink those shakes, but y bother if you can eat protein that actually tastes good. and adding more cardio wont make you gain weight, itll make you lose it.

 
What i've done is lost a lot of weight, and gone done in BF. I'll tell you how I did it. Over the past 5 months I've lost a 45 pounds. Basically I drink only water, some orange juice (4 oz) skim milk and that's it. I also started eating a lot of chicken, rice, fish, and lean ground beef. If you wanna shed a lot of weight, eat 6 times a day, if you are just trying to stay healthy 3 times a day plus shakes will be fine.

also about the protein, I've read in 2 out of the 3 mags I read that consuming the amount of protein in grams as the amount you weigh is a good way to gain muscle. For instance I weigh 205 so I try and consume around 200gms of protein a day (I eat 3 times a day plus 2 shakes).

edit: oh yeah I forgot, yes do intake a protein shake 30 minutes before workout and immediantly(sp) after your workout.

I'm still a n00b at a lot of this stuff, but I'm just saying I've lost a lot of weight and consuming that amount of protein has helped. I weigh 205 and have 13.5% BF so take it for what it's worth(I'm 6' 2" btw). If I am wrong plz correct me and I'm sorry if I am. Like I said I'm still a n00b.

well if ur trying to gain muscle drinking doesnt help but i know how college goes. so if your going to drink, drink some vodka or bacardi and if u wanna mix them mix with crystal light(the little pouchs) and mix with water and vodka a **** good drink,and then theres allways kool aid and vodka. bacardi no idea what to mix with ive allways just drank it stright.

 
also.....I have read that it's ok to have one bad day of eating. It will most likely not effect your diet and it's kind of a treat to yourself for having such a strict diet throughout the week. (I read this in mens health a while back) I'm not sure if it's true but I do sometimes eat bad one day out of the week.

 
take m1t. youll get huge..i gained 20 pounds in 2 weeks..lost about 7 in body fat. then gained 5 more in my 1st cycle..gonna start up another one soon
dude, for someone who is just starting, cycling anything will not be a good way to acclimate their heart and muscles

What is that...ROIDS? I use creatine when I start lifting hard after football season. I have a powder that you drink 5x a day, during the 1st week, then just drink one a day or however many you want after the first week. I mix it with water and it makes a fruit drink. Keeps you well hydrated also since I take it with water. It has a pretty good taste also.
