Weight lifting help

Since I dont want to jack the other thread, lets finish the convo in here.

I need tips on how to start taking protein, IE what kinda, how much, when, etc.

I weigh around 145-150lbs right now, I workout 3 times a week for about an hour, and I do lots of high row, DB bench, and front lift stuff, with ending in abs. Im going to start doing legs on my off days I think,and adding more cardio.

I'd like to gain at least 10-15lbs.

Help?

 
Find a protein shake that you like and take it. Like i said before, 40+ grams of protein per shake is a good amount. But some of them are unbearably nasty so dont buy bul until you know you can stand the flavor...

So take a high protein source about 30min-hr before I workout, then take it again afterwards?

Try to eat as best as possible, and I have a AM and PM multivitamin I will be taking.

Im 150,so i can only have 300 calories per meal? How the hell am i gonna be able to do that? Remember, this isnt at home, this is college cafertia/whatever I can get food. I can do my best to eat healthy though, and layoff the random munchies.

 
a good breakfast:

bananas

strawberries

half serving optimum nutrition vanilla

half serviing " " strawberry

1/2-1 cup ice

splenda to taste

blend that mother togehter and u have a strawberyy banana smoothie with protein. delicious to say the least...

If I can drink 151, I think I can take the taste. I will prolly just mix it with like, some OJ or something.

But Im confused on when and how many times I take the shake

well bro, u might have to spend a few bits of cash to get some supplies that work. chicken breasts are god's gift to muscle fanatics

Your prollly not gonna be able to meet the 300 calories on college food..

And taking a shake before and after you workot might be a little tough if you are eating your regluar meals as well. And remember protein isnt exaclty cheap. I say figure out a schedule to take shakes and stick to it. They shouldnt replace alll of your meals though, you still need plenty of meat, fish, chicken to put on weight

And dont neglect the cardio

So what are some simple, easy to get food stuff that I can either eat in my dorm, or try to get at the cafeteria?

Also, what brand suppliments do you recommend, and which ones exactly

What do you mean by supplements? You mean like pills or protein? what exactly do you think you are gonna take
