If you want that "higher" bass, you may want to consider getting some dedicated midbass...

i just heard some hella punchy bass this weekend. two dd 12"s, 9500s i think. they were ported with 2200 watts on them. super tight clean punchy bass with lots of energy, and low bass like crazy. the woofers were not single toned at all. great sounding from the bottom to the top.

listen to just you woofers without anything else on. you will get boomy weird sounding stuff. woofers are nothing without the proper midbass to go along with them. there is a great article in a car audio mag somewhere explaining midbass. basic article but stresses the importance of midbass.

MTX 9500s rule. My one 9512 in a snailshell to a 1501d seemed much louder and cleaner to the ear in all frequencies compared to a 13W7 I heard on 2 1000/1's. This guy was running his system directly into his cabin of his car and mine is in the cabin (ford explorer). 9500s get nasty, just get the right box. If I were you and you had the money, get 2 9512's or 2 9510s hooked up to about 2000-3000 watts in a nolteaudio.com doubleshot, that would nearly rip your car in half though. My single 9500 is destroying my car as my rear seatbelts no longer work (stay locked forever now) and my locks aren't working right. It's always fun showing off my system though, NOBODY, i mean NOBODY believes it's one 12 back there until I show them.
