So, i'm leaving work today.... driving out the gate, and i screw up, and bump someone from the back (literally bumped... small fender bender)... so we get out, exchange info, and go on our ways. I then go to call my insurance company to let them know about it, to find out that they had dropped me. So about an hour of arguing with them goes by, and i finally find out why they "dropped" me... because of a "dui i was convicted of in indiana last year" ... only problem is, i've never had a DUI, and i've never fucking driven in indiana!!! guess that OH DMV (where my licence is from) decided to throw that on my driving report for no reason. So now, i have to try to deal with OH DMV from DC, disprove the supposed DUI, and convince my insurance company that they dropped me incorrectly... OH, and the kicker... the chick i hit was driving a BRAND new infiniti QX56... so if i do have to cover it, it'll be in the THOUSANDS AND THOUSANDS of dollars just for the corner piece of her bumper... FML!

****, that *****. Insurance company's can just drop you without any notice even if you're paid up? Never really dealt with them much other than paying premiums.

It's more then likely in the fine print and are totally covered. You can pretty much bet an insurance company has good lawyers as well. how ever I would still bring up your clean record to them I doubt it will do any good though.

i spent a total of about 3 hours on the phone with them today... i havent had an accident or even a ticket in over 10 years... but yet i have a DUI 1000 miles from where i live, in a state i've never even been to??? i dont get it... they're blaming it on OH DMV, but i garuntee that i'll call tomorrow, and the DMV will have no clue what i'm talking about, and the insurance company will continue to say it's there.... got a feeling thats how it will go down.

and yea, never got a notice, phone call, email, smoke signal... fucking nothing!

yea, you gatta keep up on that insurance stuff, they'll drop you, or even change your plan without letting you know

thing is, when do people ever actually look into their insurance? when there's an accident, and it's too late

[some lady hit my parked truck and ran on it, when i came out and saw it, i called my insurance and they said i didn't have full coverage anymore, that it was all on me to pay for it... i always had full coverage, just so happens it changed a couple months before or something and they didn't tell me... luckily i was able to track the lady down that hit and run on me, cops got involved, and her insurance paid for it...]
