don't mount the amp to the box. sure, it will work just fine, but it's easier to steal it all in one fell swoop that way //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/wink.gif.608e3ea05f1a9f98611af0861652f8fb.gif

Got mine mounted to the top, no issues. I've seen some good uses of the air underneath too, some guy I know went as far as trying to connect it to his cooling system he had setup for his subs, didnt turn out working the greatest, but its not like it was needed. More of a project than a necessity. A project I'm looking at doing in the near future involves mounting the amp(s) to diamond plate directly in front of the subs, and I can imagine there won't be any issues there (maybe besides the diamond plating).

I can understand the whole security argument, too, but if you have your amp anywhere in your trunk it won't exactly make things more difficult. It's easy as anything to get whatever you want out of a trunk in no time flat. Getting into the trunk is no issue, the subs arent a problem, and as long as the amp's not mounted beneath the trunk it's no issue.

Just use security screws. I sell them at my work and I am sure you can get them at any hardware store.

I mounted my amp to my box. No real heat issues or anything so no ventelation needed. I just get a little rattle kuz i did mount it to the wood itself //content.invisioncic.com/y282845/emoticons/crap.gif.7f4dd41e3e9b23fbd170a1ee6f65cecc.gif but I dont find anything wrong with my case, but you never know till you do it.

I hate when people mount them to the box. 90% of the time it looks tacky if you can see all the wires, and It sucks if you need to pull the box out.
whenever we had a customer that wouldnt leave unless we mounted their amp to the box, what we would do is get some 3/4" spacers, and mount the amp on top of those, then we would zip tie all the wires together, and run them beneath the amp, and out from the bottom. It looks a bunch cleaner and provides ventilation (even though you don't need it...)

well come to think of it, thats how we did lots of installs.
