Vented enclosure for Type Rs?

I had a 3.0^3 enclosure with square port tuned to 38hz (5x5x11 inches) until my setup was stolen. Honestly that box didnt do it for me. Insurance replacing all my equipment and want a bigger and badder box to throw my type r's in.

How about a 4.0^3 box with a vent (slot port?) for each sub tuned to 38hz? I bet it would pound harder. Any opinions?

i think its true for higher tuning as far as loundness if you're competiting like w/some serious b/c for daily i THOUGHT ~32 hz was good (certainly you're not expecting 150 db's w/type r's are you)?

Yeah the Rs are just something that will hold me off till I get the XXX or some other super woofer. But I am willing to sacrifice some SQ for my application to be louder than it was!

i have sealed and i like it personally because its nice and tight, but if ur hell bent on vented, well buy ports. slotted sounds ok, but with ports from like crutchfield it sounds alot better and clearer
I like the sound of the box resonating with vented, trying to figure out how to build the box.
