Urgent Cap Question!

I have 3 external amps in my system, a kenwood 401M, an MTX 6500D, and an MTX 4425. I have these hooked up but am waiting to get a capacitor for them...my question is, since I have 0 gauge wire running to a distributer block, can I just get a 3 farad cap and hook it in-line to the 0 gauge or should I get 3 seperate caps and hook them up after the distributer? It would be a lot easier for me to hook one up to all of them but will this effect performance? I would like to know asap...

Thanks!

I have not seen 3 farrad caps available. If there is please post where. I would buy two 1 farrad caps. The MTX6500D amp should have it's own cap, and then I would run the other MTX and Kenwood amps on another cap, IF you wanted all of your amps to run off of capacitors. Depending on your charging system status and how you are using the amps, the MTX6500D is the only amp that I would really worry about adding a cap to. I'm not real familiar with that Kenwood amp, but I believe it isn't big enough to have a huge power draw.

Jellydime, why are you putting a cap on everything?

You should only need a cap on your subwoofer amplifier as that is where a majority of the current draw will be. This should be placed on the power wire AFTER the ditribution block just before the amplifier.

natem33- you want high capacity Caps?

take a look at http://www.alumapro.com for "The Cap"

Brax also has some caps as impressive as these- so they are out there, just have to do a little digging.

i would go with 1 fared of capacitence per 1000w of amplifer power. and put the cap after the distribuiion block, and i would'nt worry about putting a cap on the other amps, i would just put it on your sub amp........ good luck

[yeah definately use 1 ferret cap for the subs. IF you were using like 5 or 10 subs then use a couple but just use one will work the best.
