TYPE R's

i have 2 on the way and i am going to run a crunch 4 channel 250 per amp i doubt it is that high actually but i bought a little extra just in case for the 300 rms and i am goign to wire to 2ohm

I have 2 12" Type-R bridge in a 2 ohms load on a Phoenix Gold Tantrum 500.2 and they pound with 1/4 of the gain.

If you are brave like me you should buy the sony d-class amp XM-3001SXD or the mobile es version the 6000.This will cost you about 200 bones.Everyone won't believe that bass and sq can come from a sony.At (4 ohms 300w rms)-(2 ohms 600w rms)-(1 ohm 1000w rms) .VERY COOL AMPS.Best bang for the dollar.

My guess would be at 4 ohms otherwise you would be running them at over twice their RMS...just wondering cuz that is what I was thinking of getting.

That is so the exact sub setup I wanted...but heres a problem...does it make enough noise to get through the trunk of a Chrysler LHS? Cuz if you cant hear it outside, what good is it? (Cmon, I'm 16) Plus, sound quality?

Firemx220

I finally got the box finished. The R's knock!!!! I have the box set up so if you fold down the rear seats you see the subs. All you do is crack the windows and they hear you coming down the street. Even with the rear seats in the up position. I don't know if you can set up a box like this to help with the trunk prob. Hope this helps.

i am planning on getting a jbl 1200.1 for christmas and want 2 12" alpine type R's are you guys running the 1200.1 at 2 ohms or 4 ohms? should i just get the 600.1 and run it at 2 ohms? thanks

I would guess they're running the 1200.1 @ 4ohms because that amp puts out a shitload of power at 2 ohms for those type-r's to handle. I would go with the JBL1200.1 over the 600.1, not only beacuse you'll be running more power, but also because in the future when you get rid of those subs, you'll have a much more powerful amp to play with.
