Type R coils burning!

if u have MSN i could wip up a 50Hz test tone recorded at -6dB and send it to you. play it and set it to 31volts if your sub has dual 4 ohm coils. and as for the FREQ on the amp. turn it up and low to mid volumes and turn it down till u know longer hear voices. ruffly about 1/3 turned up

so the freq 45 hz and the gain 37-40 now it sais to have my cd player 3/4 of the way up which one mine is 24 and will be playing the 50hz!

ok i think one person should be helpin your. lets start from scratch!

turn the gain, freq, and eq all the way down on your amp. pop in a 50Hz test tone in your CD player and turn in up to 3/4 of max voulume. now start truning the gain on your amp till u get around 31 volts. u can go over a touch. now reconect the sub to the amp and play some music and lower volumes and turn the FREQ all the way up. now listen to the sub and not the speakers, turn the the knob down till u stop hearing voices. ruffly 1/3 of the way up. also the bass and treble on your CD player should be off, same thing with any other settin on your deck like bass boost or loud

Thanks alot you guys i was just really pissed off i will let you know when i get the 50hz tone and tune everything properly thanks alot wish i could just burn it but my burners broke dvd wont burn either!

Actually, you don't want the freq on the xover all the way down. It should be set to approx 55-60hz.

And he shoudl be getting more than 31 volts, closer to 40, perhaps a little more.

i never said turn it all the way down and keep it down. read the whole post. freq should be around 60-80 or around 1/3 of the way up. EQ or bass bost should be left off

why does he keep saying he is setting the frequency?

speakerman tells him to play a 45hz tone. then later, he says it's set to 45hz and still needs a 50hz tone:confused:

i think he may be a little confused as to what he is actually doing....
