Anyway, I reccomend you set your amp's gain correctly before you actually blow to sub or fry your amp, which isnt fun. Buy yourself a DMM (digital multimeter, they are like $20 at Home Depot and WalMart) and set the gain properly.

That shouldn't cook the coils, that's just make it bottom out... whick could mushroom the former and cause some seriously bad noises... (That's what happened to the IKP's) ((Which is why I wall socket them...))

Then you should read, ask questions, and learn before turning knobs willy nilly my friend. Sending a clipped single will cause the demise of woofers when sending any considerable amount of power.
