Type R coils burning!

My TCAB box port smells like a nasty burning smell whats the deal am i frying my coil and overpowering it! My gain is less than half way up and my freq about half way! Whats the deal why does it smell bad and burning! Only have it half way up!

thats the smell of SPL dust and hype LOL

try putting a multimeter to your amp and see what the actual wattage your running is.

so what if your gains are halfway up? you could still be clipping the amp or sending the sub too much power.

Sucks, but as long as she plays, no scratchy noises, it's prolly fine.

I think i may have pushed it a bi thard even though i wasnt really pushing it hard and my gains is set fairly low!

Dude its in a TCAB box, you need like 30,000rms to make it sound right.

My L7 and my Bhrama both would occasionally "fart" and I would smell burning coil for awhile, then it went away... The subs were fine.

A blown woofer make either terrible noise or none/limp from my experience. Blown 3 woofers.
