Tyler the Creator

Tyler and Earl are sick...they have the idgaf mentality unlike a lot of rappers out nowadays...let them cake thier money because honestly there are MUCH more worse people out there who are racking in millions for garbage material.

I agree that there are horrible artists raking in millions, and there are quality artists that aren't signed and are barely making ends meat. But that idgaf attitude will only get him so far. Especially when he comes off, to me, as Kanye's bad side on steroids. I feel like he is trying to take the shock rock formula and bring it to rap music. That idea will either fizzle out in a year or two or will keep some sort of a niche audience and won't be as lucrative as it was when it started. Btw, prime example of garbage millionaire rappers, Waka Flocka (Fozzie Bear), Jim Jones, Birdman (Birdshit), the majority of Young Money, etc.

I agree that there are talented rappers out there who should be signed. But at the sametime a lot of these artists are geared towards teenagers as well...and music changes in a sense to tend to making music these kids think are cool and making record sales ya know?...i'm sure when you were a teenager (unless you still are)...you're parents were like wtf are you listening to?...I hope you understand what i meant...I'm tired as fawk lol

I mean, my parents were pretty anti-rap in that they would just say it's not real music. It's just guys rhyming over computer created beats and ripped off samples, which for the most part if true. The only rap group I have seen to make their own "music" is the roots, since every member except for black thought is capable of playing an instrument. And I understand what you mean, but if we assume that all current rap music is just geared towards record sales and teenagers, then Tyler fits into that formula perfectly. Reason being that most teenagers are angstly little ***** who are all about rebellion against what they see to be the power figures in their life, and having an idgaf attitude. Also, that means that the only good rap music was what was back in the early to mid 90s, which is what would appeal to the older hip hop heads. I think rap music for the most part anymore is more of a formula to get record sales and build a fan base. Tyler is building a fan base of pissed off teenagers, and for some reason, hipsters. Must be because he isn't mainstream and everyone who likes what's mainstream hates his guts.

Oh, and I assume hipsters like him because he is trying to bring back the rap fashion of the 90s, the excessive gold chains and day-glow shirts.

Yeah but at the sametime the whole idgaf type attitude is a little different...I mean look how far it took NWA...They were pretty up there in their prime. And yeah a lot of beats are sampled and computerized...but its cool to hear how people flip samples because everyone has a different view as to how they are going to flip it...inncluding myself

Tyler goes fukcing hard, and brings a new flavor to the rap game. I remember being younger and the Marshall Mathers LP came out... That was violent music on a whole new level, and it was dope! Tyler is just bringing a new style to this genre. I can bump to some Tyler all day, it helps relieve stress, and is just some cool, wild schit.
